Playing With Our Lives

In August 2025, nearly 400 supporters gathered at the Ritz Charles for Playing With Our Lives, a powerful fundraiser hosted by Indiana Reproductive Freedom PAC. The evening spotlighted the urgent state of reproductive healthcare access in Indiana and the work ahead to change it.

Kelsey Mitchell and Brianna Turner of the Indiana Fever lent their voices and visibility to the fight for contraception access, abortion care, and improved maternal health outcomes. Both athletes shared deeply personal stories about abortion and the importance of support, compassion, and bodily autonomy, reminding the crowd that reproductive healthcare is not political rhetoric, but real life.

At a time when Indiana enforces a near-total abortion ban, the event underscored a stark reality: even nationally recognized athletes playing in our state do not have equal access to healthcare here.

The night was a testament to the power of community and to the growing movement determined to ensure every Hoosier has the freedom to make their own healthcare decisions.
