In 2024, IRFPAC polled Hoosier voters and found something striking: Voters trusted families and doctors—not politicians—to make decisions about pregnancy and reproductive health care. But many didn’t even realize Indiana had banned abortion.

In 2026, we went back to voters.

Here’s what our 2026 poll found:

• 52% say Indiana’s abortion law is too restrictive.

• 71% believe Indiana voters should have a direct vote on the state’s abortion law through a ballot measure.

• 43% don’t know where their own state representative stands on the ban.

• 53% worry that common forms of birth control, including IUDs, could be restricted in Indiana within five years.

• 17% aren’t even sure abortion is effectively banned in Indiana today.

• 27% don’t know that rape and incest survivors lose access to abortion after 10 weeks.

The results are clear: Hoosiers still believe Indiana’s abortion ban goes too far. But 60% of voters don’t know where their own state representative stands on Indiana’s abortion ban. Read the full poll here.
